About KNKT Playbooks.

KNKT is a suite of small, sharp tools that handle the operational reality of a music career — pitching, accountability, distribution, competitions, news, links. Each one does a single job well. None of them try to be a label, a manager, or a community. The thesis is simpler than that: artists already know what they want to do; the friction is in the doing.

Playbooks is the editorial layer. It's where strategy lives in plain language, organized by tier — emerging, indie, established, major — so a bedroom producer and a charting artist can both find the playbook that fits them this quarter. The apps in the suite are what turn reading into doing: a takeaway in a playbook becomes a pitch in pitch, a release window in studio-manager, a beat entered into a contest on kompete.

We don't sell ads. We don't sell artist data. We charge for the tools, and the writing exists to make the tools more useful.

Every playbook is signed by KNKT, not by a person. That's a deliberate constraint — it forces the writing to be defensible on its own terms instead of leaning on a byline. We don't cite outside publications, drop industry names for credibility, or quote anonymous insiders. If a tactic works, the explanation has to stand without an authority figure attached to it. Each piece runs through an editorial loop — research, draft, review against a small voice checklist, publish — and gets re-reviewed quarterly so claims about cadence, platforms, and economics stay current.
